Interlaken, Berne, Lucerne & Zurich

So, after misty skies and a little disappointment, we got out of the valley and went to Interlaken for a vigorous hike to a mountain-top restaurant.

Fathia and I agree that this ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ would be a great "senior" photo. ;)

Dang, don't I look all dramatic in this pose? ;D

This is the railcar that goes to our destination, way on the tippy top. We decided to not be wusses, and hike the monster. It was a beautiful hike, with a fantastic view of the mountains and valley below. And here, is the last leg of our journey to the top.

Gorgeous, right? I'm going to try and stitch some of these together for a nice panoramic of the Alps. It was a pretty long hike, both of us were breathing hard with the sudden elevation changes. And this...is the top!

This handy little place was at the top of the mountain hike, a nice place to eat and rest!

This is us, at the top of said mountain on their loo-out point.  Two goooorrrrgeous ladies!

However, both of us know that this gal ^^^^^^ is the best looking one. We established that later in Rome.

Our snack after our lunch atop our mountain get away. Apple pie and this raspberry, marscapone cheese, cake thingy, and Swiss hot chocolate. (P.S. Which is, by the way, the tastiest hot cocoa you will ever have. Now I need to make mine at home taste as good. ;_;)

Me eating said yummy-ness.

This is our hike elevation at the top. :D

And this, our cute little Japanese garden given by Japan in Interlaken.

And that wee speck at the top left is the lookout you see in the picture below. Awesome hiking!

Now, fast forward to Berne, where we saw the famous Zytglogge. I guess it could be called the Swiss Big Ben. Pictures!

This is a funky fountain we found looking for the Zytglogge. It was a metal structure with soil deposited on the pipe circling it; after years of rain and wind, it grew small plants, rusted, and ended up how it looks here. And I look smashing in my shorts and hiking boots.

Zytglogge! Which is Clock Tower in Swiss German, I believe. Really cool, and it chimes at the hour, every hour like any good ole clock should.

This thing is in Roman numerals, and the smaller circles are the Zodiac signs, and other Celestial movements.

Four minutes to noon, this guy starts spinning and making music. At the top, the golden man strikes the bell with his golden hammer. Cool, huh?

Mom, would Grandma happen to be Swiss? ;D

This is a funny Fathia and I couldn't stop laughing about. I know, we're both immature. xD

Berne is known for its interesting fountains, which depict some of their myths. This is is of a man defeating a lion.

This is another one. People gave us looks as we snorted over it. ;D

This is the one I really wanted to see---the fountain of a giant eating small children. xD These fountains are all over the place, but this one in particular is more famous above the rest.

Fast forward again to Lucerne, just an hour away by train and also a lovely town, but much larger.

These are my friends, we met by the lakeside in town. After stopping by the tourism office, we changed our plans a bit and hiked along the edge of town, overlooking the lake and valleys below.

These are the pictures of our little hike, a really nice, quite walk in the hills surrounding the lake.

We found a farm, and took a break to eat and mess around. Clearly, I am a better photographer than Fathia, cause I actually got her before she started to fall. The same cannot be said for mine. xD

This is the panoramic view from the lookout point we reached, a bit flawed because of  the shrouding mists, but still lovely all the same. If anything, it was a great workout!

And this is the adorable B & B we stayed in outside of Lucerne, in a little town that had an everything store, two restaurants, some houses, and a construction project. The B&B was built a few hundred years ago, and thus, is quite small on the inside.

This is our delicious farmer's breakfast. If this is how they eat, I'm sold!

Me and my gnomies. Word.

Yes. Stare at my bare bigfoot feet.

The beams were only five inches taller than myself, and at points, could nearly scalp me. >< The bed was below my knees.

The shower head was at its tallest setting. When I wanted to shower, I had to duck if I didn't want the spray to hit the ceiling. But it still did. xD

And...I had to bend myself in half to dry my hands. I felt like a giant in the house of a munchkin.

Fast forward one last time to our last day in Switzerland, in the capital of Zurich! Beautiful city, and we took the opportunity to hike on the cliffs north of the city.

Between here ^ and here v....Fathia tried to kill me. Yes. She went off the deep end. Our dear Fathia, as a car was passing by on the cliff-side road, pushed me "away" from the car...which happened to be the same spot it was heading towards. XD We laughed about it and she apologized for her peculiar reflexes, but as you will find later on, she has a secret plot against me. ;D

This is our stalker. Who is a cat. And said cat, scratched me cause Fathia had salmon sandwiches for us in her pack, that we refused to relinquish. xD However, he did give me a nice rub, coating me in a healthy dose of cat hair. Yay for allergies!!!

Yes. A pool resort atop a cliff.

And this was our way back to town, a rickety structure of construction on the highway, over the water. Good fun, we got strange looks from the workers, since we ignored the "don't hike further sign" that was further up the mountain. Considering the construction workers didn't think about foreigners who can't read German, we just smiled and walked on.

These pictures are of another hike we did, but a smaller one to a tall lookout tower.

Above, is said tower. :D

And this is us leaving Zurich from the trains station for the airport. We just had to take a picture of this, cause you know how immature we are. xD
